He worked for 40 years at the Central Bank of Brazil, holding various positions in various sectors. He was Executive Secretary of the Board of Directors and of the National Monetary Council, Head of the Department of International Reserves – DEPIN (responsible for managing USD 60 billion in 2006), Head of the Department of External Debt and International Relations – DERIN, Deputy Head of the Department of Debt Foreign Affairs and International Relations – DERIN, Senior Advisor – Department of External Debt and International Relations, Head of the External Operations Division: Front office responsible for external operations on behalf of the National Treasury, Advisor, in addition to various positions in the Foreign Capital and Exchange Department .

Marcio has a degree in Mechanical Engineering and a postgraduate degree in Business Administration, both from the University of Brasília. Member of Sueste’s advisory body.
